Used for students studying on BTEC and City & Guilds engineering courses, in 45 minute to 1 hour sessions, but could also be used for automotive, aerospace etc... Resources have been made to make it easy to customise. I removed all of my personal things from the slides and hand-out so changing the format of activities etc. is easy. Engineering based health and safety intro for fairly low level students - Level 1/2 Explains the meanings behind COSHH, HASAWA and asks students to find risks in three photographs. An 8 page activity that shows the methods of reading micrometers and vernier callipers for design, technology, and engineering applications. Ideal as a cover activity during teacher absence. Teaches basic theory behind the measuring tools, the methods of reading them and the sheet includes activities for the student to practice reading the scales if there are no measuring tools available in class.
